Event Time and Date
Modern fencing is an Olympic sport with roots in European swordfighting of centuries past. Today, fencing is a competitive sport of strategy, finesse, skill, and endurance. Fencing offers a positive physical activity, and teaches life skills such as confidence, focus, decision making, and respect.
In beginner fencing classes, students learn the fundamentals with games, exercises, footwork, and bouting with fellow novice fencers. MTSU fencing club provides the uniforms and gear, just show up ready to move, and bring a water bottle.
There are three different weapons in modern fencing, Epee, Foil, and Saber. We will begin with Epee.
